Hiya, thanks for your interest in my blog… I’m also from London and am going back to blighty for a few weeks soon. I can’t quite work out if you are based in Bali or Jakarta as I’ve seen your blogs for both places? If you come to Ubud let me know and perhaps we can catch up for a coffee…

Hi Julie, great to hear from you. I’m based in Jakarta during the week, and every weekend in Bali. I’m there for longer when I can wangle it! Funnily enough I was in Ubud on Monday. I’d love to meet you so please let me know when you are back from London and we can make a cunning plan. Have a great trip back to blighty. Lottie

Could I just ask you which site you use to host your blog…it’s very impressive:) Thanks

Hi Fiona
WordPress is the host and it’s free unless you want a domain name as I now have, or you need extra space for showing lots of videos for example. They have a great support team if things go belly up, or if you need help and advice. In my opinion it’s definitely the BEST site if you want to start a blog. There are lots of different lay-outs to choose from and loads of options for backgrounds, colours, typeface etc!
Have fun and thanks for your comments! Lottie 🙂

HEllo there, I am from Holland. Nice to live in Jkt i think, 🙂
What about your 5 kids ? They are all with you in JKT? What about their education, do they go to the international school ?
I heard that those schools are very expensive, would your company covered the cost of schooling?
Thanks I van der Vegt

Hello, thanks for your message! Please feel free to email me at the above email address if you have more questions. The international schools are expensive, but very good. I think it depends very much on the relocation package as to whether companies help to cover the cost of schooling or not. There is an excellent website called expat arrivals http://www.expatarrivals.com/ and they provide lots of information and tips on moving to Indonesia and living and working in Jakarta. Check out their website if you have a moment. Good luck and nice to hear from you 🙂 Lottie

Loved finding your blog! I was living in Bali for 4 years and moved back to Ireland. However, I miss Indonesia and will be moving back soon but to Jakarta this time. Indonesia is such an amazing country. I have had the most amazing travel adventures there, with Flores currently being my favourite location. Had a fabulous trip traversing the island from east to west and getting off the beaten track. So excited about moving back and your blog has just reaffirmed why I love that part of the world so much 🙂

Hola Marta! Right now it’s chaos here! but all is good and thank you for your kind thoughts and good wishes. The shipping is an ongoing nightmare and the house is currently a scene of devastation and rubble and a bucket is our toilet but we are surviving!! I am longing to write about it but I am going to wait until there is a bit of calm and peace and we are back to a state of some normality. I’m glad that we are not trying to do this building work in the middle of winter. The days here are sunny and quite warm but at night the temperature plummets to just above zero and the early mornings are freezing. Hope all well with you xxx

Oh Lottie,
I keep my fingers crossed for you, that the house and the toilet is all fixed, when winter comes.. Sitting here for my project near the german/dutch border, it is raining a lot,but fortunately not all the time.. I’m looking forward to tomorrow night, starting a nice and quiet weekend in Holland 🙂
All the best and hold on

Thanks, Marta! 🙂 Have a good weekend and hope that you get some sunshine soon. We might not have a toilet, or hot water or anything else, but, we have lots of sun and that makes it all worth it!

What a lovely message and really nice to hear from you, thank you, Rod. Yes, it’s all been a bit chaotic here and quite trying but, we are almost there now. I’m not a natural camper and the sudden drop in temperature to just above freezing has been a shock, especially with no kitchen, hot water or bathroom!! I’m hoping to post something in the next few days, there’s so much to write about that it’s difficult to know where to start! 🙂
